While researching this topic, I could evaluate both secondary and primary sources to get adequate information for my paper. Before gathering the information, I need to understand the purpose of the assignment. If it is a research paper, I should first analyze the class prompt because it will give me clues on the sort of evidence I will need.
Over the past few years, the automotive industry has been popular because of its application of modern technology to improve the quality of cars produced. Self-driving, autonomous, automated, and driverless are some of the names used to describe cars and the most surprising thing is that these cars are not similar. Traditionally driven cars are cars that are built with driver assist-systems. These driver assists-systems enables their driver and the passengers to be safe on the roads. However, these systems might vary depending on the model of the car. On the other hand, scientists have worked to equip cars with technology that enables them to sense their surrounding using computer vision and the GPS. There are many differences between driverless cars and traditionally driven cars including the way they are built, the difference regarding cost, performance, and efficiency, advantages, and disadvantages.
Efficiency to use
Driverless cars use a blend of technology that succeeds in improving efficiency. These cars use technologies like Lidar and computer vision are to ensure the car can perceive the surrounding while being able to move and navigate swiftly. These technologies also enable the cars to avoid obstacles. These cars are equipped with a digital map and this allows them cruise in unchartered regions (Chow-Miller, 2018). One advantage of driverless is the use of technology that enables it to execute the commands accurately while leaving no room for miscalculations.
