Essay Instructions:
For your final assignment, due in Week 7, you will create a Community Engagement Plan for a topic and/or organization of your choosing. To help you build this plan, there will be a number of short assignments along the way. This is the first one.
This assignment is your Plan Proposal, which is designed to give you the opportunity to start planning your final assignment. To begin, carefully read over the final assignment description and rubric (see previous page and link below).
Write up a proposal that includes:
What: The name of the topic/change movement about which you will be creating a plan.
Why: A brief summary of why this topic is important (i.e., why is change needed?).
Who: The name of the organization (s) (if applicable) which will be involved in your plan.
How: A brief overview of how you plan to evoke change and what resources you will need.
Theoretical Bases: One underlying theory that you will incorporate into your plan.

Why: The Importance of Addressing Housing Insecurity
Housing is a fundamental societal need and will always concern millions of people and families everywhere. Who: Partnering Organizations and Stakeholders
Some of the key stakeholders who will be involved in the engagement plan are local CDCs, housing activists and municipal authorities. In particular, I will engage groups like the National Low-Income Housing Coalition (NLIHC) and Habitat for Humanity, which include stakeholders actively participating in the affordable housing campaigns. Moreover, more specific financial institutions will continue to fund the housing initiatives due to increasing attention to social impact investments.
