Think about your research paper.

Ex: Using my research topic as a sample,  providing affordable mental health services to low-income citizens.

I will write an essay, what are the effects of lack of affordable mental health service for low-income families: long-term effects include inability to hold a job, unstable family relationships, little contribution to society.

Or, what are the causes of budget cuts to affordable mental health in low-income families? Government considers other services more important, taxes would be raised, not enough clinicians due to low pay.

Look for a cause and effect relationship in your research paper. Your essay will not be a repetition of your research paper, but an offshoot of it.
