People who see me going to a community college think that education provided here is affordable and that I am happy and satisfied. The fact is that many of my class fellows and seniors work part-time in order to be able to pay their tuition or fees, and this makes me feel unhappy most of the times. As an open-access institution, the community college educates most of the low-income, first-generation students of our area. However, public funding is lesser than expected, especially for those who are studying in four-year degree programs, and this is due to explicit state policies which should be changed as soon as possible.
