Outsourcing, which is the act of transacting somebody else to do your job or job of the company is spreading very fast in many continents of the world. This has been made possible by advancement of information technology, making it possible for outsourcers to get the best service in the world. This paper will look at rebuttal argument on outsourcing
Proponents of this argument believe that the advancement of computer and information technology has made companies to go global, thereby becoming difficult to be managed from the office. As a result, it becomes appropriate to outsource such services so that it can be economically viable to venture into expansion of the business. Subsequently, outsourcing is appropriate when time frame is short, calling for outsourcing of some services in order to provide meat deadline. For example, a company may get a big contract to train people all over the world in ICT. Due to time constraint, such company may decide to outsource the required instructors with an aim of meeting the target (Outsourcing, n.d).
Outsourcing also leads to economy of scale by minimizing on wastages and maximizing on profit margin. Due to limited operational space, a company may decide to outsource services that it cannot perform from its location due to space of labor charges. For example, a company based in developed countries may outsource labor from developing countries where labor and some law materials are cheaper
On the other hand, opponents believe that outsourcing may bring detrimental effects to the company than the gains which are normally short term. In this regard, management of such company stands to lose grip and control of the management, values and visions of the company since outsourced company are only after money for services that they provide (Riezman, 2008).
Outsourcing exposes a company to a big threat of its deals. Since the outsourced company is in most cases driven by money, a company may risk its information and strategies being exposed to unauthorized people. Subsequently, the aspect of confidentiality is totally lost ...
