1 In astronomy, the two factors determining how bright the sky appears are (1) apparent brightness and (2) luminosity.
2 The reason why color can be used to measure a star’s temperature is Wien’s law. According to this law, different objects with different temperatures will also cause a difference in the emitted spectra as they peak at different wavelengths. This is the primary reason why variations in color (or emitted spectra) can be used to determine a star’s temperature.
2 As aforementioned earlier, the phenomenon caused by Wein’s law also causes a variation of the emitted spectrum depending on the temperature of an object. This is the reason why the spectra of all stars are not identical.
3 Hydrogen and Helium. The main reason why we know this is because different kinds of gases and materials emit different kinds of colors in emission spectrums. Accordingly, a spectrum emission analysis shows that these are the two elements.

3 Stars that have smaller magnitudes are also brighter when looked at. In contrast, those which are fainter have larger magnitudes.
