Zinc is a naturally occurring element represented by the symbol Zn and atomic number 30. It is the fourth element of the periodic table. It also has an atomic mass of 65. It has properties similar to those of aluminum (Pola et al., 2020). The element has various properties which determine its colors and uses.
The element appears brittle at room temperature and soft at 100℃ to 150℃. Zinc dries up at 200℃. At room temperature, it forms a layer of Zinc carbonate due to oxidation. The coating prevents the process from continuing to take place. However, at a temperature of 225℃, it oxidizes at a very fast rate. When burnt in oxygen, it lights up in bright white flames and dissolves in acids.
