Sharks are feared and dangerous creatures. Shark bites on humans have steadily increased over the last four decades worldwide (Riley et al., 2022). According to numerous reports of shark attacks on people, sharks do not eat humans, particularly surfers. People do not belong in the shark food category. Furthermore, few people are aware that sharks are incredible creatures with unique characteristics and that they can make friends with other animals too.
The sharks are astounding. Their reproduction process varies depending on the species. There are shark species that can lay eggs and others that can lay pups. Furthermore, sharks have various types of teeth. There are sharks with very pointed teeth that are scary and sharks with serrated teeth that make them look funny because it is expected that a shark will look scary, and the teeth are essential to make a creature frightening. Moreover, sharks have good eyesight. They have excellent low-light vision, vision, and color distinction. The back part of their eyeballs is covered by a reflective layer of tissue called a tapetum. This layer of tissue is responsible for their excellent eyesight. Finally, sharks do not have bones. They are elasmobranchs, which means they are animals made entirely of tissues. Even though they lack bones, they are solid and capable of performing various tasks (U.S. Department of Commerce, 2018). As a result, sharks’ physical characteristics make them incredible creatures.
Moreover, sharks have excellent abilities also brought by their unique body parts. Sharks can detect electromagnetic fields and temperature shifts in the ocean because of their electroreceptor organs. These organs are small spots on sharks’ noses, eyes, and mouths.
