No-Till Farming
No-till farming is defined as the form of farming in which crops are grown from year to year without disturbing the soil through tillage. The planting operation involves preparation of a narrow seedbed or drilling of holes where seeds are planted. The various tools used in no-till farming such as disc openers and coulters, leave the previous crop, and the ground service largely undisturbed. Crop diseases, insects, and weed are commonly controlled with herbicides, crop rotation, or other biological means (NO-TILLAGE FARMING, n.d.)
