Introduction
Light and sound are basic energy types crucial for comprehending the natural world. They are different in their characteristics and behaviors. However, light and sound are governed by the same principles governing their propagation, reflection, refraction, and interaction with various media. Thus, light and sound have distinct but related properties, such as reflection, refraction, diffraction, and polarization for light and frequency, amplitude, and the Doppler Effect for sound, governed by specific physical laws and mathematical relationships.
Properties of Light
Nature of Light
As a type of electromagnetic radiation, light travels in wave-like movements. This phenomenon shows particle and wave traits represented by wave-particle duality. It is considered that light waves' wavelength, frequency, and velocity characterize them. Light proceeds at a uniform pace of roughly 3×108 meters per second in a space.
Reflection and Refraction

Reflection is the most salient quality of light. This phenomenon shows up when sunlight strikes a surface and bounces back. According to the reflection law, the striking angle equals the reflected angle. When light transitions from one medium to another with distinct densities, it refracts. Snell's Law rules the extent of the refraction, stated as follows:
Where "n1 and n2" are the refractive index of the media, θ1 and θ2 represent the angles of incidence and refraction, respectively.
Dispersion and Diffraction
