1 As of today there are more than 275 social media platforms, all of which have at least one million active users on a monthly basis. With these many social media applications and platforms, the traditional bounds of the corporate manager have been broken. Every marketing manager who understands the social media traffic is enticed by the thought of gunning that much traffic on their marketing sites and pages on the social media platforms (Andrews, 2013).
It is not all smooth riding as there are components that make the most astute managers in marketing, especially where the social media is concerned. This is a relatively new ground and there are not as many robust laws that regulate business transactions, but there are a few that should be taken into account.
* As a marketing manager who is legally astute, one should have the knowledge of the laws with precise context which is specific to the use of the legal tools at their disposal. Not all the legal tools apply to the social media, as there are specific components that are context oriented. It is important that the marketing managers understand this concept, especially where the privacy of the potential users are concerned. This can save the managers law suits that would easily turn viral and damage the image of the company
* They should also hold a special place for the impact that the law has on the firms' success. While most of the other managers may see abiding to the legislations as an expense, to the legally astute, it is an investment that will lead to better growth. This can save the companies from facing legal constrains with the government and instead turn these constrains into profitable business strategies that are innovative.
* Legal issues require every marketing manager to have the ability to make decisions that are informed rather than wise guesses. Poorly informed legal decisions in this era could mean the end of the reign of any company, especially where the social media is concerned and use as the platform to reach out to the potential customer. Simple mistakes and omissions can easily turn viral and in a matter of hours plummeting the share capital, driving the company out of business in less than a day. To avoid such scenarios the managers should take their time to assess the situation alongside all the possible legal solutions with a calculated risk of the outfall.
* It is also crucial that the managers possess the zeal to regulations from the proactive sense of approach. The upside of the huge traffic that exists on the social media is the need to stay proactive at all times making sure that all the aspects of the marketing campaign are in check. As indicated from the previous components, the social media can build or break the business. This therefore means a keen eye and vigilant attitude towards the regulatory measures that have been put up have to refined constantly. What is legal today can easily change course, as the social media traffic may put their weight behind revolution. Such are the incidences that require utmost care.
2 In the wake of the use of the internet and precisely the social media to transact business, there are disputes that arise, where the customers are not satisfied with the services or the goods. This is used to avoid the litigation process, by the two parties, where they come to some form of agreement.
* Mediation is one of the methods that can be used to resolve the dispute between a company and their customers. There is a third party to the resolution, who acts as the mediator between the disputed parties. While the mediator is not allowed to influence the decision that the two disputing parties make in the end, there are chances they could put forward a mediator's proposal which is just a sugge...
