University Name
Professor’s Name

Project Overview/Description
Healthcare organizations require compliance training to meet regulatory state and federal requirements, accreditation standards, and institutional policies. It ensures that professionals are ready to meet the new legal challenges in the organization by being operationally excellent (Sharma et al., 2023). In the case of those healthcare organizations operating in Georgia, it remains specifically critical to complete necessary compliance training given the certain regulations specific to this state regarding data control and patient rights. According to McDonnell & Nurmohamed (2021), when a type of training is not applied correctly, an organization may find itself violating legal regulations, thus attracting penalties from the law, and its stakeholders may lose confidence in the organization.
This manual is devoted to Health Information Management (HIM) professionals working in Georgia and covers the regulations that frame their work. It also features the Health Insurance Portability Accountability Act (HIPAA), Georgia Code § 31-33 on medical records, and Medicare.
The training prepares HIM professionals to deal with legal complexities, risk, and patient privacy issues. As such, it improves organizational, regulatory compliance, and ethical standards, making organizations' operations more integrity.
Training Objectives
1 To sensitize those concerned with HIPAA, Georgia Code §31-33 and Medicare standards choose a 2-hour time suitable for HIM activities.
2 The participants shall achieve a score of not less than 85% on the post-training compliance tests.
3 To enable the participants to develop practical abilities for risk management within an hour of the workshop, along with the applicable case studies.
4 To link training with the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) Code of Ethics to encourage ethical decision-making in all HIM practices.
5 Ensure all training modules and evaluations are done within one week to meet the organization's planned schedules.
