Comparing and Contrasting Good and Bad Techniques that Detectives Used
Good Techniques
The police used the "good cop, bad cop" method to get Michael to confess. "Good cop" detectives were excellent to Michael and understood his situation. The police tried to get to know Michael by telling him he was there to help and was interested in hearing Michael's side of the story. The police said that Michael was lying and that he would spend the rest of his life in jail.
Bad Techniques
The police used many bad tactics to get Michael to confess. To get the answer, they asked things like, "Did you kill your sister?" and "Why did you kill your sister?" Also, they lied, like when they told Michael he could go home if he admitted what he did. Michael was also worn down by not
