Locate a current federal statute that has a title that begins with the same letter as your last name. . There ,are a number of ways to do this such as .going .to .the Popular Name Table of the U.S. Code or browsing through volumes of the Statutes at Large. What is the Public Law number for your statute when it was first enacted? Provide the U.S. Code citation for your statute. Find your statute in three versions of the U.S. Code ( print version of U.S.C. or U.S.C.A./U.S.C.S., Lexis/Westlaw/or Bloomberg, a web version such as Fed Sys, House of Representatives, or Cornell). Note the various features of your statute as published in each of the sources' (currency, cross references, history etc.) and write a one page (single spaced) essay comparing and contrasting these sources.

Securities Exchange Act of 1934 (Exchange Act)
Section 10(b) of the Securities Exchange Act,  SEC Rule 10b-5, codified 17 C.F.R. § 240.10b-p was promulgated by Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) of the United States, pursuant to its powers given under section10(b) of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934. This rule prohibits any person from committing fraud either directly or indirectly in terms of sales or purchases of security. This rule was enacted first in 1933 under Securities Act, which prohibited fraud relating to sales of securities. Rule 10b-5, under § 10b of the exchange act was implemented in 1934 to include fraudulent purchase of securities (SEC, 2012).
