I have selected the 1st Amendment, Article 1, Section 8 of the United States of America (USA) Constitution. Specifically, the Constitution under Section 8 says that Congress has the power to collect duties, taxes, excises, and imposts, and pay debts (“The Constitution of the United States of America,” n.d.). All these should be done uniformly throughout the USA. In particular, the Constitution regulates commerce with foreign countries, several states, and Indian tribes.
Section 8 of the 1st amendment both protects and limits businesses in the USA. On one hand, the Constitution protects all businesses within the country from unfair competition from international companies.
