Project Planning With Your Manager
Journaling throughout the term will prepare you to submit the second capstone component, and will serve as periodic status updates for your manager at General Electric.
In the first journal assignment, decide which of the projects you will choose for your final project. Once you have selected one, address the following items for your manager:
Describe which business problem you will address.
Explain why you have selected it.
Identify which tools you plan to use in your project.
Describe any challenges you might anticipate in working with them.
Treat your journal assignments as if they were face-to-face meetings with your manager and answer each question in the prompt to the best of your ability, being sure to explain your answers in full detail. Periodic meetings with your manager throughout the course of your project will allow you to maintain an ongoing, one-on-one dialogue and address your project questions and concerns.

The business problem that one should address is employee attrition at General Electric (GE). At some point, an organization loses its workers through health issues, resignation, elimination of a specific job position, and retirement. However, if the data of employee attrition is collected and analyzed well using statistical tools and methods, such as R, regression, and stata, it would be easy to develop proper solutions to the issue at hand.
I have selected the problem of employee attrition since it is something that no organization can avoid. In that case, the solution found will not only be helpful to GE but other companies can use it to minimize employee attrition.
