(Tribhuvan & Shinde, 2024). It used a fixed number of positions in the alphabet to shift each letter in the plaintext. In the 20th century, a leap in encrypting occurred with the advent of machine-based ciphers. Modern encryption began with the creation of symmetric encryption algorithms, and the most well-known example is the Data Encryption Standard (DES), created in 1977 (Al-Hazaimeh et al., 2023). Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) later replaced DAES to probably become the most widespread encryption algorithm. Common Algorithms Used Today Several encryption algorithms are operating to ensure data security across many systems. First, the symmetric encryption algorithm AES plays a significant role in securing sensitive information in many major industries worldwide, be it government agencies or financial and communication sectors. Second, Rivest-Shamir-Adleman (RSA) uses large prime number factorization as its core problem to perform the encoding process. It is used in online communication for security enhancement (Akter et al., 2023). Another such algorithm is Elliptic Curve Cryptography ...
