In the history of America, it is well known that life outside the house for a woman was the hardest and cruel lifestyle that a woman experienced. A woman’s say in public was not recognized at all thus making women in America to stand up and fight for their rights. It was worse to the extent that women did not participate in voting. It therefore took time for a woman voice to be respected in the society. In this paper I will discuss how American citizens can use an awareness of the history of women’s struggle for equal rights to strengthen and continue to protect a society that encourages the full participation of all citizens.
It was in the year 1848 when women first to strategize on how to fight for their right. This was the beginning of several conferences that were held in different parts of America in regard to this speculated change in the society. It was not until 1920 when women were allowed to vote through a constitution amendment. In these conferences women were able to access justice in courts and they were no longer looked down upon by men in the society but accepted as part of the society.
Several women were involved in this revolution that included Susan b. Anthony, Elizabeth Candy and Carrie Chapman. They led the American women towards their freedom and will live to be remembered in the American history (Kendal, 2001). In them they showed selfless and determination in what they did and this is a good moral example to the people of America. They fought for all and not for their own interests.
Women have always been strong in their endeavors such that in the current America gender and race is not a factor to consider remembering that the current president is with African background. W...
