Different states take diverse actions to ensure that they mark and retain their global position and advance their interests. Many developed states use their military power and advancement to dictate and advance their interests, while less developed states result in terrorism. However, terrorism has been rebuked, and smaller states cannot use it to advance their interests. Nevertheless, military power for the established nations has been considered legitimate and occasionally used against smaller states like Afghanistan. Terrorism is generally unacceptable, against humanity, and cannot equate to military power.
Unlike legitimate military action, innocent individuals suffer from post-traumatic panic conditions, depression, and significant anxiety following terrorist attacks. Victims of terrorist acts are also highly susceptible to drug dependence and psychological problems following the attack. Terror organizations encourage individuals, especially youngsters, to abandon their homes and move to war zones throughout the globe, particularly in Iraq and Syria and subsequently in Libya (Congressional Research Service, 2020).
