The American Civil War took place between the years 1861 to 1865. The fight was primarily between the northern and southern regions of the United States (US). According to Dew (2017), the principal factor that steered the war was the moral problem of Slavery against black people. Other factors included the act of Kansas Nebraska and the debates of Lincoln Douglas. On the moral issue of Slavery, the Northern and Southern Americans were divided by their different concepts on Slavery. The Southern Americans depended on labor from black slaves to attend to their farms since their economy depended on large-scale farming.
On the other hand, the Northern Americans were well rooted in manufacturing and industry operations (Nagler et al., 2016). The primary concern of the Northern Americans was that Slavery was morally wrong and evil by all means. They, therefore, demanded Slavery be made illegal throughout the US.
