Born in November 1835, Andrew Carnegie was a famous industrialist, philanthropist, and businessman from the United States. He is widely known for leading the expansion of America’s steel industry. Since his high school times, Carnegie was interested in helping poor and needy people. After gaining recognition and earning a lot of money, Andrew donated over $340 million to foundations and charities with an aim to bring positive changes in people’s lives (Crawford, 2010). Besides this, he laid the foundation of Pittsburgh's Carnegie Steel Company, one of America’s largest steel companies, and devoted most of his years to large-scale philanthropy. He emphasized on building more and more libraries, conducting experiments at school and college level and educating children without any discrimination (Crawford, 2010).
