Essay Instructions:
Double-spaced, 12 point, Times new roman font. Must be 3 full pages. This is what I have so far. What three qualities do you feel every nurse should possess and why? Every nurse should have communication skills, patience and empathy for their patients and their families. Communication is my first one because without it a med error could occur. As nurses we need to able to communicate with our team as well as our patients and their families. Patience is needed when caring for any patient because they are worried about their condition or even scared. Nurses need to be able to show that they can ensure the patient will feel safe. That their nurse understands this and is willing to take the time to hear their needs. Empathy I feel like comes naturally for healthcare providers. Without it I feel nurses would be emotionless. Empathy helps you to put yourself in the patient’s situation so you can truly take care of them the way they deserve.
