According to Dyar et al (2012), a Nurse Practitioner is defined a registered nurse who has attained higher level of education and training in a specific area of nursing; for example family and pediatrics practice. More often than not, Nurse Practitioners have got Master’s degree that is commonly known as a MSN, and also board certification in different specialty. What is Malpractice in Nursing?
Malpractice is defined as an act of negligence by professionals like the medical practitioners, lawyers, and public officials. In nursing malpractice do occur when a nurse fails to carry out his or her duties as expected. The law has stated clearly that most of nursing requires clinical judgment. In nursing, there many dimensions for which malpractice can occur, for instance; if a nurse injures a patient with sharp or blunt object or equipment, and also when a nurse does or says nothing when an action is needed (Chen et al., 2012).
