Medical coding for deliveries requires one to understand the different ways to deliver a baby. In particular, as opposed to the two renowned delivery methods, coding has four key components, namely vaginal, cesarean, successful, and unsuccessful vaginal birth. In the scenario at hand, it is clear that the patient had a cesarean for her first child. During her second pregnancy, the physician allowed her to try vaginal birth, which was unsuccessful after three hours of pushing made the patient extremely exhausted (MedicalCodingCert, 2012). As such, the patient was taken to the operation room, and a cesarean was performed using a transverse incision. After fifteen minutes, two healthy babies were born.
