In the recent times, there have been legislative policies and regulations that have had significant impacted on nursing and healthcare service delivery. An example of such is the policy and regulation on hospital readmission reduction program. This policy has aimed at ensuring that there is little readmission of patients to hospitals over the same kind of illness in less than 3 days from the day of discharge. Renedo & Marston (2015) note that; this policy has been induced through interdisciplinary approach to patient care. This is whereby, care givers from different departments exert joined efforts in ensuring adequate management of patients in hospitals so as to ensure that patient get quick recovery as well as smooth transition from hospital to home such that they do not get readmitted to hospital with the same ailment in a few days. ...
