Part F: Evaluation Process
Project evaluation constitutes a process of gathering and appraising information to comprehend the progress milestones, effectiveness, and success of an evidence-based research project. Evaluating is a critical aspect of project management since it contributes towards the successful completion of the research project and informs the choices made concerning the future of both the current project as well as other related projects in the future.
Project Evaluation Methods
The key project evaluation methods include outcome evaluation, process evaluation, and formative evaluation. Process evaluation determines if the program activities are executed according to the plans and culminate in certain outcomes. It is necessary to conduct process evaluation from time to time throughout the program life and begin by reviewing the activities as well as output components of the logic framework. Project outcomes prove whether the project is on track. Outcome appraisal examines how the program enhances wellbeing outcomes within the target population by appraising the achieved milestones in terms of the outcomes that the research project intends to realize. In order to effectively design the outcome evaluation, it is essential to start with reviewing the outcome indicators of the implementation model. Formative evaluation ensures that the program activities are feasible, acceptable, and appropriate before being fully implemented (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, n.d.). It is predominantly conducted when a new activity or program is being developed or modified, or adapted to the current one.
The Most Appropriate Evaluation Method
Formative assessment is the most appropriate evaluation method for my project. The education program is an existing program adapted to improve mental health awareness and thus enhance wellbeing outcomes in the target population. In this way, formative evaluation determines whether the proposed program intervention is likely required, comprehended, and adopted by the target population. It also shows the degree to which the evaluation is feasible, based on the objectives and goals. It is useful for this particular project because it provides an avenue for adjustments to be made to the plan before it completes implementation (Henderson et al., 2020). Formative assessment also maximizes the chances that the project will be a success.
Evaluation Plan
According to the Center for Addiction and Mental Health (2018), the education program effectiveness can be evaluated based on the plan below:
Evaluation questions.

Outcome indicators.

Data gathering techniques.

Data collection timing.
