The Essentials of Master's Education in Nursing
The MSN Leadership program at University is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). As noted on The American Association of Colleges of Nursing ( 2020) website "CCNE serves the public interest by assessing and identifying programs that engage in effective educational practices" (para 2). All MSN Leadership programs align with The Essentials of Master's Education in Nursing (2011). Each course has identified MSN Essentials that are achieved upon course completion. The MSN Essentials " reflect current and future nursing practice at the master’s level, which demands expert application of evidence-based practices, quality improvement methods, outcomes measurement, systems knowledge, and leadership skills "(para 3).
At the end of each MSN Leadership course, you will address how you have achieved the MSN Essentials through your course work. Using the MSN Essential prompt assignments throughout the program, you will highlight your integration of the MSN Essentials into professional practice during the final course of the MSN Leadership program MSN 8900 Nurse Leadership Portfolio
