Technology and Data Risks
Essay Instructions:
Quentin and Clayton hired a young CTO out of Silicon Valley who was impressed with their showing at the Green Diamond Leaf awards and wants to be part of their startup. He is a brilliant programmer and is focused primarily on data collection and automation of tasks that would otherwise impede progress. He has signed licenses to half a dozen software packages already and demos every new offering that comes across his desk.
This seemed great on the surface, but Quentin was worried about their reliance on all of that technology and the potential exposure of their data. Unfortunately, Quentin's fears were realized and a major data breach has occurred.
For this assignment, you will create a press release related to the data breach. There is a resource below that will give you an overview of how to write a press release.
To begin this assignment, develop the hypothetical data breach scenario that is affecting the company. You must decide on the following:
The type of data breach
What portion of the business was targeted
What data was compromised
Your press release should include the following information in some form:
Who you (the company) are
What happened
Where the breach occurred
When the breach occurred
How the breach occurred
Why you are reporting this
Remember who the audience for a press release is. It will likely be seen by other people in the industry (including competitors) and the company's current and potential customers. With that in mind, you need to find a balancing point between being informative and giving away too much information.
Try to be as succinct as possible without leaving out critical information. Limit your submission to 1-2 pages and use the APA citation style for references.

Data Breach Press Release
We noticed that one of the company’s websites was accessible to an unauthorized third party. The incident led to the release of some of our client’s personally identifiable information. The method by which the hackers gained access to the system is now unknown, but they will quickly be held accountable.
The hacker’s primary target was the personal information of clients and staff members. The organization remained vigilant due to the numerous attempts to compromise computer systems and the increasing frequency of data breaches (Ray, 2022). Customer data was hacked, but ultimately, at the company where I worked, all of our software developers were able to build better security systems for data protection. Hackers would find gaining access to user accounts more challenging if multi-factor authentication was in place.
The most sensitive data within the company was previously vulnerable, but the introduction of cloud computing significantly reduced the risk. However, security features were incorporated into the cloud that might assist in deterring hackers and ensuring that your data remains protected (Schatz & Bashroush, 2019). These measures might have prevented hackers. Biometric-required logins are only on...
