Symptoms of Anaphylactic Shock
There are several symptoms associated with anaphylactic shock. One of the main ones is skin reactions where the affected person may develop hives (DeTurk et al., 2019). The skin may also itch and turn pale. Low blood pressure is another very common symptom observed in anaphylactic shocks. Additionally, the airway may become blocked. Factors that may lead to blockage of the airway include enlarging of the tongue or swelling of the throat (DeTurk et al., 2019). The blockage may lead to wheezing and difficulties in breathing. Other symptoms include nausea, dizziness, and a pulse that is both weak and rapid.
There is one primary way nurses differentiate anaphylactic shock symptoms from other conditions or issues. The nurse understands that anaphylactic shock mainly affects the respiratory and cardiovascular systems.
