As a professional Vascular Access Nurse, who is assigned in an acute area facility, which deals meticulously and religiously with central lines, CLABSI (Central line-associated bloodstream infection) prevention, peripherally inserted central line nurse, and IV nurse, I should enough know my strength to do my job rightfully. My strengths are as follows: dedicated, focus, passionate, good sense of camaraderie, and flexible. I am dedicated enough to my job that I give my best focus because nursing is my passion. In this field, good camaraderie and flexibility must be practice, and I give my colleagues, as well as, patients the best service I can. Since I am a vascular nurse, I am certainly well-equipped with high knowledge in wound assessment and management. I am also skilled in formulating differential diagnoses and thus provide both care and treatment to those in need of my specialization. Furthermore, my strength in terms of behavior has also contributed to my dignity. I know the scope of my limitations which means what is beyond that shall be referred to the higher-ups – my seniors (Hamilton, 2005).
This work is undoubtedly challenging. I should not neglect my weakness to avoid any mistakes in the workplace. The only weakness that I found is how tiring the job can be. It demands full time and attention which my body is being considered, too. There is also a need to practice more of my communication skills.
