In order to understand the role of the balanced scorecard in appraising evidence-based project implementation, it is essential to understand its critical perspectives. The balanced scorecard framework translates a project's objectives into a limited combination of performance indicators. Its four perspectives include customer satisfaction, internal process metrics, financial measures, and organizational improvement and innovation efforts. In that vein, it can be deduced that the balanced scorecard offers insight into appraising the implementation of the evidence-based project by enabling healthcare leaders to determine whether the employment of the information in one unit could come at the expense of other critical areas within the organization.
