Interview Reflection for EBP Proposal Development Name Institution Course Instructor Date Interview Reflection for EBP Proposal Development The interview with the clinician specializing in Women's Health and Family Health Nursing yielded much information that will greatly assist me in the formulation of my EBP proposal. This reflection will describe the main ideas from the interview, analyzing how the interview influenced the thinking about filling the clinical gaps and how the knowledge will be useful when considering the creation of the EBP project. Several significant knowledge deficits in Women's Health were pointed out during the clinician interview. This is one of the most critical knowledge deficits in the postpartum period, especially in the detection of postpartum depression. The clinician pointed out that although PPD is increasingly being recognized, there are no widely accepted and empirically supported universal screening instruments that are easy to use and culturally appropriate for use with women of lower income and ethnic minorities (Gupta et al., 2024). It is also worsened by the low-level incorporation of Mental Health in Primary care for postnatal women. The other large gap that was brought up was on how chronic diseases are handled in a pregnancy period. Diabetic and hypertensive women receive suboptimal care because their care is often fragmented between their primary care practitioners and obstetricians. The clinician acknowledged the possibility of enhancing the outcomes achieved regarding care for both mothers and infants through enhanced care coordination and creating more effective care delivery models. Filling this gap through research-based implementation, as shown through the multidisciplinary care models, could help fill the chasm between obstetrics and primary care.
