Epidemiology refers to studying the origin and the cause of diseases in the community. It involves the scientific investigation of emergent diseases to develop a preferred solution before it because of more harm to the community. The field remains relevant not only to society but also to public health because of the following reasons.
Physicians and other professionals involved in preventive medicine and public health department employ epidemiological paradigms for diseases scrutiny, outbreak exploration, and observational studies to give way forward on the state of emergent diseases (Merrill, 2015). The knowledge gained from the investigation process is imperative. It helps public health on further research investigation as far as approaches necessary to curb the diseases in case they occur in the future.
