However, there are different challenges to the actual equality in healthcare accessibility, and the issues should be solved to promote justice. In this essay, the concepts of rights, access, equity, and the right to autonomy will be examined to show how they are crucial in achieving equal healthcare rights for vulnerable groups in society. Universal healthcare is recognized as one of the human rights in international law and domestic constitutions. It defines access to adequate amounts of healthcare facilities, items, services, and programs. To individuals in these groups, the realization of this right entails a fight against odds that have rendered them unable to seek good quality health care, odds that are rooted in the society’s structure. Protecting this right is important and implies matters such as healthcare costs, policies against discrimination in healthcare facilities, and state laws concerning patients. For instance, universal health coverage policies aim to reduce the financial risks of accessing healthcare services and products, hence improving the status of the less fortunate in our society (Woodward et al., 2021). Access to healthcare involves several dimensions: availability, accessibility, acceptability, and quality inputs, which seek attention from every nation’s healthcare system. Minority groups, for instance, are disadvantaged when it comes to these aspects. In the case of rural areas, there are likely to be constraints in the availability of healthcare facilities. There is a reduction in the supplies of health care, which some clients may be unable to afford, hence limited access.
