The intervention should be an independent, specified nursing change intervention. The intervention cannot require a provider prescription. Include a comparison to a patient population not currently receiving the intervention, and specify the timeframe needed to implement the change process.

Reducing the number of medical errors in the healthcare system of the United States of America can play a substantial role in ensuring they patients receive the best care possible. Among the medical errors involved is a situation whereby, a nurse prescribes the wrong medication to a patient, hence complicating their medical condition. The patient may end up having a complication that is not curable or one that would require them to keep on taking other medications for the rest of their lives. In serious cases, wrong prescriptions have resulted in death. In addition, the errors can occur during a surgery whereby the wrong body parts are cut and thus, resulting in excessive breathing and death. Surgical tools can also be left inside the patient's body and, in turn, cause them problems that they would not be having in a situation whereby the nurses were extra careful not to make an error.
