Care Cordinator
Dear Mr/Ms…………………………..
As an ambitious and enthusiastic leader, I comprehensively write the letter to show my interest in the field and specific position of care coordinator.
Health Service Coordination Position
The HSC position that interests me is Care Coordinator at a Federally Qualified Clinic. The position is reliable since it would allow me to apply the skills I have gained throughout the program. The primary function of the care coordinator is to help in the management of patient care. The care coordinator plays the following roles:
* Interviews families and patients to assess human service needs and health
* Assists the patient access medications
* Assists the patient in accessing specialty care services
* Engages in care management meetings
* Collaborates with specific agencies working with underserved patients
Qualified Candidate
I am qualified as a Care Coordinator since I have an extensive medical background in the field. I have over 15 years as a combat medic in the United States Army, and I have volunteered at special needs group homes and Special Olympic events. I graduated from Western Governors University with a B.S. in Health Services Coordination with a culminating field experience event in a military medical clinic where I was exposed to various patients from various backgrounds, all needing multiple facets of care. Some of the major skills for care coordinator are time management and empathy. I have all the identified skills gained throughout my HSC program.
Field Experience Examples
I have gained different experiences. For instance, I coordinated many patients with different activities such as physical therapy, consultations with neurology, and ophthalmology. I was able to foster an environment of trust and open communication when engaging the patient regarding their wishes and concerns with the proposed care plan. I emphasized ethical and culturally sensitive care when dealing with a patient with religious concerns regarding vaccination. All the stated field experiences make me suitable for the position.
Based on the provided evidences I strongly believe am suitable for the position of the care coordinator

Leadership Style
I engaged a leader who indicated a laissez-faire style of leadership. He never micromanaged once he trusted his co-workers and teammates to do their job appropriately. His leadership style offered support, guidance, and appropriate feedback. The identified leadership style was effective since it effectively merged with the healthcare role. The laissez-faire style is appropriate since it allows the employees to work without consistent supervision leading to higher productivity (Breevaart & Zacher, 2019). Therefore, it is an appropriate style for the Care Coordinator position.
Leadership Observation
The first observation was that the leader was condescending and maintained a very professional communication ethic no matter what the situation was. The leader was condensing by showing a patronizing attitude towards the employees. He portrayed himself as the leader, and every health report were to be directed to him. He treated his teammates with respect and dignity while allowing teammates to exercise creativity and flexibility in their assigned duties. The second observation was based on group engagement, whereby the leader created a better environment for engagement and creative thinking. The leader interacted with the staff positively, freeing them to share their views.
Strategies for Connection
The first recommendation is to promote frequent team huddles to ensure everyone is on the same page instead of a weekly huddle. The second recommendation is to enhance team bonding events such as family bowling or group dinners to enhance strategic connection. My last recommendation would be to incorporate more high-performing team members’ rewards. Therefore, the leader can enhance connection with the team members with the identified recommendations.
Leadership Qualities
Leadership qualities are necessary for transformative growth. The key quality I need is focusing on trust. It is important to initiate trust in the team for effective development. Open communication is the second quality for team development, and I will enhance the trait for effective coordination with the team members. Creative thinking is the last quality I prefer, and I will support creative thinking by rewarding exceptional behavior. Incorporating these traits will support a cohesive and dynamic patient-centered team that will promote longevity amongst the team members.
Career Goals
My first short-term career goal is to Master Healthcare Management, which would enable me to gain adequate skills. The second short-term skill is to acquire necessary skills such as open communication to engage others in the field. My first long-term career goals are to secure a job where I can combine the educational background of a health services coordinator with the skill sets garnered from the Masters in Healthcare Management, preferably in a family practice type clinic. The second long-term skill is to motivate the patients I work with to be a steward of their health by advocating for their success a...
