Involvement of clinical nurses in evidence-based practice (EBP) is essential in enhancing quality and safe patient care, particularly for those institutions that aspire to attain Magnet Recognition. The EBP directive argues that nurses should be able to conduct nursing interventions with the use of most appropriate evidence, carry out research studies, and disseminate their findings (Schirm, Banz, Swartz & Richmond, 2018). Documenting and supporting the involvement of clinical nurses in EBP and research is considered to be an overwhelming activity that requires the support of the top management team in an organization. Therefore, the top leadership should provide financial support to ensure that nurses are able to implement the best practices while conducting their research activities. This paper has provided the perspective of an organization in utilizing the present resources and structures in order to showcase the processes and activities that engage clinical nurses in research and EBP.

The key points that have been addressed in the article are concerned with nursing research and EBP. The authors argue that clinical nurses are responsible for providing direct care to patients and are, therefore, tasked with the role of aligning the strategic plan of nursing.
