Nursing Informatics Project Proposal for an Organization

Essay Instructions:

To Prepare:

Review the concepts of technology application as presented in the Resources.

Reflect on how emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence may help fortify nursing informatics as a specialty by leading to increased impact on patient outcomes or patient care efficiencies.

The Assignment: (4-5 pages not including the title and reference page)

In a 4- to 5-page project proposal written to the leadership of your healthcare organization, propose a nursing informatics project for your organization that you advocate to improve patient outcomes or patient-care efficiency. Your project proposal should include the following:

Describe the project you propose.

Identify the stakeholders impacted by this project.

Explain the patient outcome(s) or patient-care efficiencies this project is aimed at improving and explain how this improvement would occur. Be specific and provide examples.

Identify the technologies required to implement this project and explain why.

Identify the project team (by roles) and explain how you would incorporate the nurse informaticist in the project team.

Use APA format and include a title page and reference page.

Use the Safe Assign Drafts to check your match percentage before submitting your work.

Assignment includes: 3 or more peer-reviewed research articles and 2 or more course resources.

original discussion

The conception of nurse informatics has evolved beyond designing Electronic Health Records (EHR). These specialists are important in enabling consistency in providing quality and safe care (Nahm et al., 2019). First, nurse informants instruct nurses on different modules and functions of the EHR system, such as automating patient monitoring data instead of inputting them manually. Second, nurse informants provide essential communication between IT staff and clinical nurses in decrypting information on client monitoring and proposing improvements to care. Third, the informants optimize the documentation of health records by helping to orient new employees who would utilize computers in their work. Lastly, nurse informants aid nurses in understanding new technologies implemented by the organization. This procedure makes nurses more comfortable with new technology and access resources for questions.

Researching to enhance nursing informants is a strategy that can enhance these interactions. The EHR provides opportunities for mining various data to detect patterns and trends. According to Deckro et al. (2021), adverse events like patient falls, pneumonia acquired in hospitals, and catheter-associated bloodstream infections have led to the design and utilization of algorithms that mine data from EHR. To increase nurse informatics Adverse Effects detection accuracy and efficient interactions, the organization should design a Comprehensive programmed system incorporating all data sources.

The continuous growth and rise of new technology and nursing informatics tools greatly affect professional interactions. Efficient and Quality health services increase with the use of technology. Healthcare management uses information systems to run hospitals. With efficient technology, information acquisition would become convenient and simple, the workflow would improve, time would be saved for patients seeking medical assistance, and treatment decisions would be made quickly. The application of technologies that manage health information has an overall effect of enhancing patient safety. Moreover, interdisciplinary professionals and administrations can easily identify inefficiencies and failures by accessing data management systems' exact, current, and relevant information (Conte et al., 2023). Generally, EHRs and technology that encourage inter-professional communication improve patient outcomes and increase staff collaboration.

Introduction:

Technology has a significant role in healthcare, particularly today when technological and healthcare advancements are closely correlated. Technology is continually developing innovative approaches to treating illness and other medical issues. In order to make health and healthcare fairness, research, safety, quality, and results more controllable, medical data are also processed or fed into basic technology like computers. In nursing, this is referred to as informatics, and it differs significantly from Electronic Health Records (EHR) in that informatics encompasses more than just the recording of medical information. In order to make the medical profession as controllable and modern as feasible and to facilitate new research, artificial intelligence (AI) is making its way into the modern-day medical service. With that said, this paper will serve as a proposal for a nursing informatics project for a particular organization.

Purpose:

The primary goal of the proposed project is to identify patterns and trends in the data processed by medical organizations using artificial intelligence (AI). A particular focus will be on improving the accuracy of adverse impact identification, encompassing events like hospital-acquired infections and falls among patients and other crucial situations. The initiative intends to enhance medical data understanding, promote research-based insights, and expedite the dissemination of current knowledge by utilizing AI capabilities. This endeavor would enhance the organization's capacity to identify and avert unfavorable incidents while enabling the medical field to provide up-to-date, research-based data for
