Compassion and burnout fatigue is one of the issues that affect nursing practice, while this influences patient outcome and caregiver satisfaction. There is nursing shortage even as there are more workplace demands in clinical settings. As nurses care for patients they increasingly need to accomplish more in the workplace to meet the demands and challenges of nursing. Those nurses who have expressed dissatisfaction in the workplace are more likely to cite burnout as a reason than those who say that they do not feel dissatisfied. When nurses exhibit irritability and chronic fatigue, this could be an indicator of compassion fatigue and burnout
(Todaro-Franceschi, 2013).
There is a need to study clinical burnout to understand dhow this affects nursing dissatisfaction and the quality of health provision. Even as nurses care for patients there is higher risk of turnover when there is compassion fatigue and burnout.
