Quantitative research is one of the two major approaches that scholars employ in research studies to explain phenomena, the other being qualitative research. Through the collection of numerical data followed by statistical analysis, quantitative research seeks to determine whether a theory is true. As informed by Taylor (2013), quantitative research can be used to test the relationship between different factors, thereby establishing causality.
