These levels are primary, secondary, and tertiary health promotion. Categorizing them into these levels assists healthcare providers to focus their efforts on primary health issues across all the stages of diseases and wellness. Health promotion at primary prevention aims at maintaining and promoting health. This stage also comprises measures that prevent an individual from getting ill (Krau, 2011). Primary prevention is considered as active because a person is doing something that involves preventing the spread of the disease.
