Leadership Styles and Nursing
Leadership Style Traits
* Democratic leadership style incorporates the junior views in the decision-making process.
* The leader is ready to adapt
* The leader is a team player (Cherry, 2023).
* The leader has a fair mind.
* The leader is engaged in the process.
The democratic leadership style usually allows group members to participate in decision-making. The leaders applying this style are usually ready to adapt. The main reason is they are ready to welcome new ideas which could be better than the ones they currently have. Furthermore, they are team leaders since, despite welcoming new ideas, they actively contribute to help the team members complete the tasks. Moreover, they have a fair mind where they welcome any idea despite the member who will give it as long as it will positively impact the decision-making process. Any individual's opinion is therefore welcomed under this leadership.
Why Democratic leadership is practiced
* Democratic leadership is used in most large organizations.
* It consists of high employee engagement.
