Health policies promote and protect individuals' health in a country. Government bodies, departments, and officials have significant roles in healthcare policy formulation and regulation. This paper highlights the essential functions and impacts of government officials, key stakeholders in the federal government, in healthcare policy development.
Government officials have a remarkable level in health policy development since they guide health departments and committees on the appropriate health policies to enhance positive health outcomes for the citizens. They examine the reliability of vast information sources influencing policy-making (Bulger et al., 2010). Additionally, government officials recognize potential bias in sources of information to ensure that policymakers only use accurate, valuable, standard-based, and credible information in healthcare policy development.
