Professional Practices
As part of the practicum, I learned a lot about health policy. It is arguably the most crucial element in any country's healthcare system. It provides the framework or skeleton upon which the larger healthcare body is built. Health policy can be defined as the set of directives, decisions, and principles that dictate how healthcare delivery is supposed to be done (Anders, 2021). From the outside, it determines who is to access certain healthcare services, and from the inside, it dictates which services and how they should be delivered. I realized that the health policies in place entirely dictate the nursing field.
Personal Strengths and/or Weaknesses
I realized that my strengths lay in self-discipline. I can do anything efficiently, even without going through a given health policy. I always know what is right and what is not. My weakness, however, is that I tend to be so reluctant when working with a certain policy that I feel it is against what I believe to be right.
