Due to varying conditions, an individual is usually at risk of falling sick. After visiting the hospital, patients are likely to spend most of their time with the nurses. This reason has prompted most individuals to have an improved interest in nursing. Like other professions, the nursing profession has also been experiencing a series of transformations. It is, therefore, critical to analyze the future of nursing to employ the right measures to plan for it. The future of the nursing industry will have more virtual care, high demand for technological skills, bilingual nurses, and holistic care.
In the future, there will be an improvement in virtual care. As technology continues to improve, the nursing field is embracing it. One change that technology will improve is regarding virtual care (Morris, 2023). In future, the nurses will be offering some of their services remotely. For example, they could use a live video, audio, or instant messaging to remotely converse with the patients. They could also monitor the patient's vitals after surgery or answer any questions that the patient could have. This process could save the time and cost currently incurred in face-to-face treatments.
In the future, nurses with technological skills will have high demand. Since the outbreak of COVID-19, the pace of reliance on technology increased by a huge margin. For example, nurses currently use various technologically driven approaches, such as Smart Beds to optimize patient positioning and Electronic Health Records to track the patient's health history.
