Sleep is an essential biological process that assists in body restoration and body rejuvenation. In this essay, the consequences of lack of sleep, the effects of tiredness on the body, the causes of sleep troubles, and strategies to improve the quality of sleep are discussed.
Sleep deprivation has severe negative effects on the body. A person who has minimal sleep results memory problems and feelings of depression. When experiencing sleep deprivation, one is likely to experience irritability and a lack of motivation in daily life. Notably, sleep deprivation is associated with weakened immune systems significantly increasing one’s risk of infections, a rise in blood pressure, and heightening the risk of developing chronic diseases such as heart disease and diabetes (Felson, 2022).
