Implementing evidence-based practices requires researchers or healthcare providers to interpret their research findings. Research interpretation enables them to determine whether the results emerging from a study are statistically or clinically significant. These components are fundamental in research and influence the usability of the findings in decision-making processes. Thus, understanding and differentiating the two concepts is critical.
Statistical significance refers to the results arising from a particular cause. Ranganathan et al. (2015) indicate that it seeks to demonstrate the trueness of a finding and that it does not depend on chance. Sharma (2021) reports that the p-value illustrates the randomness leading to specific results.
