According to Ross (2014), service-learning is the measured connection between the academic curriculum and the service community. It is a learning activity that exposes students to various learning activities that benefit the community and others while developing the goals of the curriculum. The main objective of service-learning is to foster a sense of caring for others (Darby, & Lang, 2019). In the transgender curriculum, an example of a cardinal component of service-learning I have built into my curriculum is learning is primary.
