As nurses, we are legally and ethically obliged to ensure we obtain consent from the client or their next of kin. Also, they expect to maintain the confidentiality and privacy of the client throughout the treatment process. In my practice, allowing the client to have an opinion in their medical approach and ensuring privacy and confidentiality will enable us to build a relationship with our patients based on trust.
