Cystic Fibrosis (CF) can be defined as an autosomal recessive infection triggered by a gene mutation that encrypts cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator (CFTR). CF impacts above thirty thousand seniors and children in the United States. The illness affects approximately seventy thousand people globally (Chen et al., 2021). Some of the clinical manifestations of CF include respiratory tract difficulties, characterized by a persistent cough that produces thick mucus. Accordingly, CF leads to digestive problems due to the blockage of tubes that allow digestive, pancreas, and small intestine enzymes to function. As a result, it leads to malabsorption of the nutrients from the consumed diet (Goralski et al., 2021).
